Vacationing in Taiwan Food Frenzy Epi 32. Watermelon Galore!
The best thing you could eat on a hot sunny day would probably have to be juicy watermelon. Watermelon is a thirst quencher and it has a good dosage of vitamin C and vitamin A. It’s not only juicy and sweet, but it’s low on calories for those looking for a healthy treat. You can really get watermelon all year round nowadays, but I would have to say that summer is still the prime time for watermelon. You can’t walk into any morning market in Taiwan and not spot a fruit stand with massive watermelons split open in red juicy goodness. The watermelons in Taiwan are double of those in the States at half the price! Can we say food heaven?
Watermelon season! Refreshing watermelon juice.
Cut up slices of sweet, juicy watermelon into a blender with some ice cold water. Blend until smooth and serve. It can also be blended with soy milk or milk. No additional sugar necessary because the watermelon is already very sweet.
Although most people think that watermelon is a fruit full of empty calories and sugars, Watermelon is actually full of natural sugars, water, antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin, C, potassium, vitamin B6, and can lower the risk of cancer. It has very little calories and is a great snack for anyone craving something sweet and refreshing. It is also a great substitute for artificial beverages, especially for those trying to watch their weight. Because it is currently watermelon season, everyone should take advantage and eat as much watermelon as possible!
high five if you love watermelon!
